Katie Gregson-MacLeod shot to stardom in August 2022 while supplementing Edinburgh University student income with a job at Perk on Church Street. After a 45-second clip of her song Complex went viral, record companies clamoured for the former Inverness Royal Academy pupil’s signature and she agreed a deal with Columbia Records.

ALAN SAVAGE has triumphantly sealed a deal to exit administration and take complete control at Caley Thistle. The multi-millionaire Highland businessman who stepped in to fund the stricken 2015 Scottish Cup winners during insolvency, which began in October, to the tune of £1 million will take 100 per cent ownership. With no alternative concrete bids for ownership materialising, Savage had demanded terms for saving the club from the threat of liquidations.

Firefighters have successfully extinguished a moorland blaze close to homes on the north coast near Thurso. Four crews were called to action after the fire was reported this afternoon behind John Kennedy Drive, near to the Pennyland and Ormlie areas of the town. An area roughly 300 metres by 200 metres was ablaze beside the A836 road westwards. Such was the density of black smoke from the fire, residents were asked to keep windows and doors closed during the operation.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a car fire near Thurso this morning. An attempt was made to set the car alight in MacKenzie Terrace in Westfield between Tuesday, April 8, and Wednesday, April 9. MORE COURTS NEWS HEREThen, around 4am this morning (Thursday) the car was fully set ablaze. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at court at a later date.
