Jamie Oliver is the latest in a long list of celebrities to call in for a takeaway at Oban’s famous Original Green Shack seafood hut. The TV chef tucked in to a grab and go meal of hot langoustines and oysters when he arrived in Oban this week before heading off on a family holiday to the Isle of Mull. Jamie, who took time out to chat and pose for photos with staff, is one of many famous faces who have enjoyed a meal from the seaside hut over the years.

CalMac winter ferry cuts risk leaving one of Scotland’s most remote islands with fewer services than during the Covid pandemic, locals have claimed. Islanders on Colonsay, where at least half the 120 residents are over 65, say that CalMac’s planned service reductions contravene the minimum requirements.
