RED LODGE - Red Lodge Fire Department has sent a crew of four and a Type 3 engine to California to help assist in combatting the raging infernos presently engulfing Los Angeles and surrounding areas. The team, who joined with Montana’s two task forces in Beaumont about 80 miles south east of L.A., are assigned to the Palisades Fire just west of the city. The team will be in charge of responding to any new fires that start up in the area.

Red Lodge got a taste of the Tiny Homes revolution that started 16 years ago when Steve Estelle and Allison Smith-Estelle recently installed two units on their property. The primary goal behind the move is to help provide for workforce housing in the town and both units will be run as long-term rentals. The couple have been working with Woodland Ridge Tiny Homes in Livingston to design/build the two homes. “It’s like a real house but smaller,” said Allison.
