Police were once again called to an aquatic centre in the Melbourne municipality of Casey. This follows an incident where a lifeguard was hospitalised after a violent attack by several young men on January 19 at the Casey Aquatic Recreation Centre in Narre Warren. The latest incident was at Casey RACE aquatic centre in Cranbourne East, and allegedly involved approximately10 young men brawling poolside on Sunday February 2. Theron Vassiliou of Jim’s Pool Care Balwyn has won Jim’s National 2023 Franchisee of the Year Award. This is his second time winning the award despite only being a franchisee for four years. Before entering the industry, Vassiliou had been looking at various businesses to invest in – but hadn’t initially considered the pool industry. “The idea was first suggested by my pool builder who told me a bit about the market,” he says.
