In May this year, the WHO declared the end of CoVid-19 as an international health emergency. The WHO estimated that 20 million people had died from the virus. The end of the public health emergency was a relief for the daily lives of most people in Europe. However, from a research point of view, the pandemic with its far-reaching consequences for various sectors of society has increased the focus on security issues.

Many diseases, such as cancer, are characterized by an alteration of cellular metabolism allowing cells to adapt to changes in the microenvironment. Stable isotope-resolved metabolomics and downstream data analyses are widely used techniques for unraveling cells’ metabolic activity to understand the altered functioning of metabolic pathways in the diseased state.

DesignThis cross-sectional study used an online survey advertised in Lebanon and Germany and was announced as an exploration of “Food Insecurity, Eating Disorders, and Physical Activity Among University Student Populations in Lebanon and Germany”. Data collection took place between September 2021 and March 2022 amid a triple crisis in Lebanon, i.e., the COVID-19 pandemic, the unprecedented economic and financial crisis, and the repercussions of the Beirut port blast.
