    A former NFL player has admitted to killing his girlfriend, whose remains were found months after her family reported her missing when they didn’t hear from her on Mother’s Day. Kevin Ware, 44, was ordered to serve 30 years in prison for the grisly murder of Taylor Pomaski, 29, according to court documents out of Harris County, Texas. Pomaski’s remains weren’t found until months after she was last seen alive in April 2021; officials say she had been beaten, stabbed, strangled and burned.

    The mother of a slain U.S. airman in Florida has sued not only the sheriff’s deputy who killed him, but also the apartment complex where he lived and the leasing agent who reported a domestic disturbance at his apartment. As Law&Crime has previously reported, U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Roger Fortson, 23, was killed on May 3, 2024, by Eddie Lee Duran, who at the time was a 38-year-old deputy with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. The incident was captured on body camera footage.

    A man who told a mother not to be sorry for killing her infant son has been sentenced for coaching her on how to discard the baby, Mateo Harding. Edwin Cosmo Trudeau, 20, is set to spend 74 months in prison with 145 days’ time-served credit for serving as an accomplice after the fact. The mother, Esperanza Rae Harding, 21, was sentenced in March to 32 years in prison for second-degree intentional murder. Both had pleaded guilty.
