GUYSBOROUGH – The Municipality of the District of Guysborough (MODG) has joined a growing call from other communities in the province for the Nova Scotia government to overhaul its public library funding formula. At its regular council meeting on May 21, MODG voted unanimously to support a resolution urging the province to provide “adequate and sustainable” funding for regional library systems like Eastern Counties Regional Library (ECRL).

GUYSBOROUGH – It’s not his jam. Standing before a crowd accepting tributes for a job well done. That’s for politicians, not the administrators who work for them behind the scenes. But Barry Carroll, the Municipality of the District of Guysborough’s (MODG) top bureaucrat, is having a hard time hiding its gratitude. After 16 years at the helm as MODG’s Chief Administrative Officer – and nearly four decades of public service across Atlantic Canada – Carroll is winding down his final year in office.
