    VineAhead of English Wine Week 2025, tourism organisation Visit Essex has shared that the region has noted an increase in wine tourism.  Visit Essex is shining a light on the county’s stunning vineyards and award-winning wines this English Wine Week. The tourism organisation marked the occasion at an event at Dedham Vale Vineyard on 10th June.  Essex is now the third largest grower of grapes in the UK and the largest wine producer in the Eastern region.

    Vine“Our farmers and wine businesses are fed up,” said WineGB CEO Nicola Bates while commenting on yesterday’s Spending Review announced by chancellor Rachel Reeves. According to chancellor Reeves, DEFRA has been allocated £7.4 billion, which matches previous budgets. The government has also announced a £2.7 billion boost for farming and nature recovery, however, within this, there will be a £100 million cut to farming and countryside programmes.
