    The Ranger Pellet Grill lets you cook anywhere there's an electrical outlet. It's small enough to fit on a picnic table or a tailgate, uses all-wood pellets as fuel, and offers precise temperature controls. In testing, the Ranger delivered moist, smoky food and did a wonderful job of maintaining an even cooking temperature. One downside is that it doesn't connect to the Traeger mobile app like the pricier Ironwood 650.

Entry-level systems cost the least and usually include some door and window sensors, a motion detector, and a hub that communicates with these devices via one or more wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, Zigbee, or a proprietary mesh network.
