    The Center for Community Engagement held a watch party on Nov. 5 for students to watch as states were called for the presidential candidates. Students gathered in Rettner Hall to talk with peers and eat free food. The mood was light in the beginning, and the chatter was loud, but this faded quickly as more states were called for Donald Trump. This event only went on until 10 p.m., so the winner was not officially announced there.

On the surface, picking a white, young, radical Republican from Ohio as a running mate seems like an obvious choice, but this choice has come to hurt the Trump campaign in unimaginable ways.

    On Sept. 13, famed indie-pop band, COIN, released their sixth album: “I’m Not Afraid Of Music Anymore.” This album features 14 unique tracks with many references to previous COIN songs. I am genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed this album. As someone who wouldn’t consider themselves a typical COIN fan, I think most of the album is wonderfully done; I can say that I will be listening to this album again.

    On Tuesday, Sept. 10, Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl, announced on his Instagram that he had “become the father of a new baby” who was born outside of his marriage. Grohl has been married since 2003 to his second wife, Jordyn Blum, and has been raising three children with her. As expected, this news came as a shock to Grohl’s family.

    Rochester’s Fringe Festival is a non-profit annual event founded in 2012. Since its beginning, it has hosted numerous events of all types. The Fringe Festival has always been an amazing place to see live music from a variety of artists. This year, local artist Adrianna Noone took the stage at the Rochester Music Hall of Fame. Adrianna Noone is a folk/indie/Americana singer-songwriter from Rochester who began playing live at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
