UR employees will switch from using the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) to myURHR to record their hours and receive payment starting Dec. 15. This change applies to all employees, student and non-student. myURHR is made up of two systems: UKG, which employees will use to record their hours, and Workday, through which employees will be paid. In order to facilitate a smooth transition, Human Resources (HR) has released a training module in MyPath for student employees to complete.

On the surface, UR’s add/drop period allows for academic freedom and flexibility. In reality, however, taking advantage of the full length of time is next to impossible. This academic year, classes started on Aug. 26, and the last day to add or drop a class with instructor approval is Sept. 23.

“Free Palestine! The military-industrial complex is complicit in genocide. All of you are complicit. Free Palestine!” This was what protest co-organizer CJ Militello shouted as security dragged him out of the Memorial Art (MAG) Gallery Sept. 16. Militello was in the MAG as a part of the Finger Lakes’ Party For Socialism and Liberation’s (PSL) protest against the fourth Annual Congressman Morelle Defense & Government Forum and Matchmaker event after their petition to cancel the event was disregarded.

Westside Farmers Market held their annual College Night on Tuesday, Sept. 3 to try to get students involved with their weekly summer market. “It gives the college students a chance to experience the farm, you know,” stall owner Collette said, “the small business experience and engag[ing].”Students who attended received free tote bags and five-dollar chips to use at any of the stalls.

Second-year doctoral student Rebecca Bryant Novak stood in front of Eastman School of Music’s concert hall last Monday to protest against misogyny. Novak organized the protest in response to how the University had responded to her Title IX complaint filed against one of her professors. The Title IX complaint included accusations of sexism, misogyny, and gender-based harassment against a faculty member from her time as a first-year doctoral student.
