First, he starred at Charles Herbert Flowers high school under head coach Dameon Powell. For the past four years, he’s seen significant playing time on the field for the Terps. In his senior season in 2024, Akingbesote started all 12 games and led the team’s defensive lineman with 32 tackles. At Maryland’s pro day, Akingbesote said that he’s grown as a player.
