New team brought in after previous scheme went into receivership Buckley Gray Yeoman (BGY) has replaced Collado Collins on a 579-home redevelopment of the former Shredded Wheat factory site in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Collado Collins was originally appointed as lead architect on an earlier version of the scheme for 1,340 homes, approved in late 2018, for joint venture partners ZM Land & Capital and Metropolitan Thames Valley.

At least 1,452 affordable homes could be delivered by 2031Hull City Council cabinet members have approved a plan to deliver nearly 6,000 homes by 2031. Within the housing growth plan approved this week, 5,958 homes will be delivered by between 2025 and 2031, including 1,452 for affordable tenures of which 800 will be council homes. The plan’s delivery of 993 homes a year would be in excless of the 540 needed to meet the city’s identified housing need.

House prices up 2% in DecemberDemand for homes increased by 13% in January 2025 compared to the same period the previous year according to the latest house price index (HPI) from property website Zoopla. Zoopla determines ‘buyer demand’ by measuring activity on its website, such as searches for property, listing homes and making enquiries. New sales agreed are also up 12% year-on-year in January 2025.
