The A647 Stanningley Bypass will be closed between the A657 Henconner Lane and A6110 Leeds Outer Ring Road from tonight, (Tuesday, April 22), until Saturday, May 3. A crucial link road between Leeds and Bradford, the bypass will be shut from 8.30pm to 5am each night to allow for essential footbridge works to take place.

Luqman Ishfaq, 23, died in hospital after after being stabbed on Barlow Street, Bradford on Monday, October 21 2024. Now six months on, the charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information that leads to the identification and conviction of those responsible for his murder.

Christopher Thompson, aged 31, who works in Regional Scientific Support Services for West Yorkshire Police, has been charged with two counts of making indecent photographs of a child and one count of sending communication conveying a threatening message.

Police were called at 10.47pm on Sunday night (April 2), to reports of two men having been assaulted in the vicinity of Hunslet Lane and Butterley Street in Leeds. The two incidents took place near to the Crown Point Shopping Park. Both men were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
