A Leeds nursery has been given a deadline to improve their early years foundation stage after a ratings downgrade by Ofsted. Rose Garden Nursery, located on Dewsbury Road, Beeston, has been rated as Requires Improvement overall in a new report published by Ofsted, following an inspection visit. Located on the Sugar Mill Business Park, the nursery was downgraded in all four inspected categories - the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.

A key route in west Leeds is set to shut this weekend as part of ongoing works to revamp the Dawson’s Corner junction. Eastbound B6157 Bradford Road will be closed from 7am on Saturday, June 7 to 7pm on Sunday, June 8. The closure comes as part of a £44 million revamp of the Dawson’s Corner junction, aimed at speeding up car and bus journeys, reducing air pollution and improving safety on one of the city’s most congested routes.

Leeds officials have given an update on partial closure order handed out to tackle drug dealing at five blocks of flats. Partial closure orders covering five blocks of flats near Hunslet Moor Park were granted to Leeds City Council by magistrates earlier this year following an investigation by West Yorkshire Police into local drug dealing activity.
