FOLSOM, Calif. — An artist behind a public heart statue in Folsom that reportedly went missing months ago pleads for its return. Sarah Bluford said she took two to three months to paint “The Art of the Trail,” a roughly 3 by 4-foot heart statue focusing on Folsom Lake and the city’s Johnny Cash Trail, which apparently vanished sometime before the first weekend in February from its last known location between Nara Sushi and Round Table on Riley Street.

CALIFORNIA, USA — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) digital identification in some cases when Real ID enforcement begins May 7, authorities said. If you already possess a Real ID and download a digital version of that identification — it’s compatible at Real ID checkpoints, a TSA representative told ABC10. If your ID is not Real ID-compliant, and you download a digital version of that identification, it is still not Real ID-compliant.

Diana Shequela Watkins, 35, of Sacramento, and Denzale Lamont Watkins, 33, of Martinez, were killed around 6 p.m. Nov. 19, 2024, along the 3800 block of Northgate Boulevard, the coroner’s office told ABC10 Wednesday. The pair were pronounced dead at the scene and the shooting appeared to have taken place in a Taco Bell parking lot where several casings were found, authorities said at the time. A witness ABC10 interviewed that night described the number of gunshots she heard.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A motorcyclist dead after a freeway crash Tuesday night in Sacramento has been identified. Shaun Wayne Sutterfield, 50, of Sacramento, died after a crash between a motorcycle and car around 8:30 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5 near the Highway 50 connector, according to the Sacramento County Coroner's Office. Sutterfield fell off his motorcycle and died at Front Street and Broadway, the California Highway Patrol said.

FOLSOM, Calif. — A charity run later this month in Folsom will raise money to ensure several students in need have access to adequate supplies — and it’s organized by their peers: five ninth-grade boys. Vista Del Lago High School freshmen Jack Armstrong, Asher Chang, Rocco Jerwers, Minho Kim and Landon Simpson will host Lace Up for Learning’s 10K, 5K and kids’ runs on April 27 at Cohn Park. In 2025, they plan to register at least 200 runners and raise $20,000, according to organizers.
