The family of late Jazz owner Larry Miller is returning to top-flight professional sports ownership in their hometown of Salt Lake City through the purchase of a controlling interest in MLS’ Real Salt Lake and the NWSL’s Utah Royals. Sources with knowledge of the deal terms said the transaction values the entire enterprise, which in addition to the teams includes America First Field and Zions Bank Training Center, at $600M.

MLS and TikTok have agreed to a multiyear extension of their partnership amid continued uncertainty over the future of the social media platform in the U.S. The renewal follows last season’s successful “Player Spotlight: Messi” streaming event on the platform that offered users a live feed of Inter Miami MF Lionel Messi during his MLS Cup Playoff debut against Atlanta United. The stream, produced in partnership with Apple TV, peaked with 150,000 concurrent viewers.

The Northern Super League begins its inaugural season tonight as Canada’s first professional women’s soccer league when Vancouver Rise FC hosts Calgary Wild FC at BC Place at 10pm ET. The match will be distributed on TSN and CBC Gem in Canada and on ESPN+ in the U.S. NSL President Christina Litz said more than 10,000 tickets had been sold for tonight’s game as of Tuesday and that attendance for AFC Toronto’s opener against Montreal Roses FC on Saturday is also expected to exceed 10,000.
