When the MSHSL announced an extra half-day for the state wrestling tournament, many figured it was good news regarding the expansion of the girls portion. That has now been confirmed. Starting in 2026, the state wrestling tournament will expand by a half day to accommodate the continued growth of girls wrestling, sources have told the Post Bulletin.

The Bears' Cinderella run came up just short on Wednesday as No. 5 Rocori took advantage of five Byron errors to capture the program's first state title with a 9-3 victory Friday afternoon at a packed Jane Sage Cowles Stadium in Minneapolis. In the end, it just wasn't meant to be today for Byron.

ROCHESTER — The racing community lost a legend on Friday. Harland Vernon Morehart Sr. of Rochester, well-known around the racing community for his grit, smile and positivity, died peacefully at Season's Hospice in Rochester at the age of 86. "We lost a legend on Friday," Deer Creek Speedway said in a Facebook post. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to Harland Morehart Sr.'s family and friends."Morehart lived a life few can only dream of, excelling and enjoying life to the fullest.
