RUSK, Texas (KLTV) - One of the three men accused in a Cherokee County quadruple homicide case from July 2021 appeared in court on Thursday. Dylan Gage Welch is the lone suspect who District Attorney Elmer Beckworth has said the state will not seek the death penalty. While it was not stated whether death penalty is still being pursued for the other two suspects, Beckworth has previously said the state can keep that as an option all the way up until the trial date.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Tyler home may be a total loss after an explosion and fire Thursday morning, authorities say. The incident happened in the 1500 block of East Dawson Street, just north of the Tyler Junior College main campus. According to Tyler Fire Department Assistant Chief Kelly Adkinson, the fire began around 10:30 a.m.There was a reported explosion in the incident, Adkinson said, and a single male occupant in the home.

After completing 15 holes on the second day of the tournament, the former Cowboys quaterback withdrew from the event, citing pain in his back as the main reason. City of Longview approves construction of new public pool

LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The Longview City Council approved a new public pool at Stamper Park in their Thursday night meeting. The city had previously been operating solely with Ingram Pool for their residents, and a proposal was put forward for a new public pool at Stamper Park. In a 4-3 vote Thursday, the $3.5 million project was approved. The motion for approval was made by councilmember Shannon Moore and seconded by Wray Wade.
