    GILMER, Texas (KLTV) - Union Hill ISD announced plans for elementary school students following recent storm damage to the campus. According to Union Hill ISD Superintendent John Booth, elementary school students will be moved to both the high school and junior high campuses while the elementary school undergoes cleaning and repairs from recent storm damage. According to Booth, the canopy structure at the elementary school’s entrances was damaged but the school itself was not.

    CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A multi-agency narcotics investigation resulted in the arrest of five men in Cherokee County. According to a release from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, five men, Michael Wayne Johnson, Cory Jacob McCoy Jones, Jeffrey Len Pryor, Johnathon Mark Adcock, and Jonathan Lee Gentry have been federally indicted for alleged drug offenses Thursday.

    SABINE COUNTY, Texas (KTRE/Gray News) - A Houston attorney arrested in connection to his son’s death has received a $10 million bond. Michael C. Howard is accused of shooting his son and burning his body in Sabine County. Sabine County investigator Joseph MacDonough shared additional details about what allegedly happened Sunday night during a press conference on Thursday. According to MacDonough, 68-year-old Michael Howard allegedly shot his son, Mark Howard, believing he was an intruder.

    GRAND SALINE, Texas (KLTV) - A truck crashed into the lobby area of a bank on West Frank Street in Grand Saline Tuesday afternoon. The Austin Bank on West Frank Street in Grand Saline is still open for business after a truck crashed into the ATM and lobby area of the drive through portion of the bank. Grand Saline police responded and no injuries were reported from this incident.

    TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Smith County judge has sentenced a Mesquite man to 15 years in prison for his role in a 2022 string of diesel thefts. Ramon Perez-Torres, 31, of Mesquite, appeared in Judge Taylor B. Heaton’s courtroom Friday, on charges of organized criminal activity related to a widespread string of diesel thefts that occurred in 2022. Torres waived his right to a jury trial and entered a plea of guilty. Judge Heaton sentenced Torres to 15 years in prison.
