TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Newly released bodycam footage captures Smith County firefighters’ point-of-view when responding to a structure fire. On May 6, Smith County Emergency Service District 2 firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire with a person trapped inside the home on the 1300 block of Big Oak Bay Road. The video shows multiple firefighters responding to the home to begin rescue and fire suppresion efforts.

JASPER, Texas (KTRE) - A Jasper man accused of shooting another man in the head has turned himself in. According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Mureia Donta Napoleon, 47, of Jasper turned himself in around 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon following an earlier phone call from Sheriff Chuck Havard. According to JCSO, shortly before midnight on Friday deputies responded to a venue known as “The Barn” located on CR 119 in Jasper on reports of a shooting.

HOPKINS COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - Authorities are responding to a child drowning in Hopkins County. According to Game Warden Captain, Steve Stapleton, Texas Games Warden, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, and local first responders were called to a 4-year-old drowning in a farm pond at a residence off of CR 4612 in Hopkins County. According to Stapleton, the child was recovered by a bystander and is being taken to a hospital by EMS escorted by Fire. AirEvac was on standby but not used.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - According to an affidavit, a Nacogdoches ISD teacher was arrested for failing to report child sex abuse allegations against her husband. According to the affidavit obtained by a Nacogdoches County open records request, Camille Floyd Lanier, 46, refused to report child sex abuse allegations against her husband, Nikolai Alexi Lanier, 44, despite her status as a mandatory reporter as a teacher at Nacogdoches ISD.
