ST. LOUIS — One local organization is asking people to think twice before purchasing a bunny rabbit for their children this Easter weekend. Joy Gioia, the Missouri House Rabbit Rescue manager, said that she encourages parents to get their children this pet with the mindset that they will ultimately be responsible for rabbits. Rabbits live 10 to 12 years, according to Gioia, and this is a long-term commitment that most children cannot make.
