Compared To Other Laptops The HP OMEN MAX 16 is an excellent gaming laptop that delivers smooth gameplay in demanding titles. That said, the NVIDIA 50-series GPUs are only a minor upgrade over the 40-series, so it might not be worth upgrading if you already have a laptop with a 40-series GPU, and if you're upgrading from an earlier generation, you can likely find a discounted 40-series model that'll deliver a similar gaming experience, like the ASUS ROG Strix 16 (2024).

Compared To Other Laptops The Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition is an excellent Windows convertible laptop and among the best in its class. It provides a similar user experience to direct competitors like the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 (2024). The Yoga's USB-A port makes it a little more convenient, as many peripherals still use a USB-A connector, and its battery life is significantly better, lasting around three hours longer in light uses.

Compared To Other Laptops The Apple MacBook Air 13 M4 is one of the best ultraportable laptops on the market. Its build quality, as well as the quality of its touchpad and speakers, is class-leading. Apple's M4 SoC has among the fastest single-thread performance compared to other current-gen chips, and while its multi-thread performance doesn't stand out as much, it's nonetheless very impressive considering the lack of active cooling.

Compared To Other VPNs Private Internet Access has acceptable performance that's on par with most VPN services, but like most, it fails the kill switch test. It's good enough if you're just downloading torrents and browsing the web while protected, but its speeds are mediocre, so don't expect blazing-fast downloads. It's also owned by Kape Technologies, which privacy-minded users tend to criticize due to controversies about ad injection from its past.
