1 IntroductionColorectal cancer (CRC) ranks third among the globally most prevalent cancers, in terms of incidence and mortality (Sheng et al., 2020). The morbidity and mortality of CRC are consistently increasing, which poses a serious threat to the general population’s health (Jian et al., 2020).
