INDIANAPOLIS - They say every picture tells a story, and for Danyette Smith, hers are a tale of survival. "From having a gun placed to my head and told I would be killed, to currently having plates in my eye. I remember in 2008 just looking up to the ceiling and was like, 'When I get out of this, I'm gonna be who I need," Smith said. "Didn't know who I needed, what I needed, but I knew I needed something to help me break free from what I was in."Smith is a survivor of domestic violence.

So excited to be back for a THIRD year in a row to celebrate this year's @Conexus_IN #Rising30 Class!! Last couple of years, I stood on a wooden box to see over the podium... This year, we have purple stool for a little razzle dazzle! 😂😂😂 #shortgirlprobs 💀 https://t.co/zQhELBBBUc

Sitting under the dryer has to be the worst part about getting my hair done. I feel like I'm under it FOREVER. 😭

I can't wait to see the @IndianaFever in the regular season!!! They're going to be fun to watch! 🔥🔥🔥

There’s much more to the Fever than the Caitlin Clark show. Forget the steady rebuild. Indiana upgraded everything from its front office to its bench this offseason and is ready to win now: https://t.co/OmSs1NgNAz https://t.co/zVnTys2Xzj
