Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has signed a deal worth more than €2 billion ($2.2 billion) to design and build two new cruise ships for Carnival Corporation’s AIDA Cruises. The order marks the first ships that Fincantieri will build for AIDA, but it has built 75 ships for other lines belonging to Carnival, most recently including Princess Cruises’ Star Princess. The first AIDA ship is scheduled for delivery in early 2030 and the second for late 2031.
