Named “Modular 001”, the collection is made up of a set of seats that slot into niches around a glass-topped table. The table has been shaped to form the Forestalgia logo, and incorporates a central “soul” component that includes a mood light and speaker.

Last Monday, on the occasion of Milan Design Week, Hypebeast’s design vertical Hypeform co-hosted the opening party for the House of Switzerland Milano. Taking place in the city’s Brera district, the hotly anticipated exhibition took over the Casa degli Artisti for the duration of the week. To mark its opening, event organisers Pro Helvetia teamed up with Hypeform to host a party across the space, complete with food (including, but not limited to, Swiss cheese), drinks, and live DJ sets.

This year, Milan Design Week was filled with immersion aplenty, and installations were complete with multi-sensorial elements that allowed visitors to escape the streets for a few moments. One in particular, located at the city’s Salone dei Tessuti, showed the others how to do it expertly – with a perfumer and designer coming together to create an experience that blended furniture and fragrance.

German fashion designer Jil Sander has unveiled a collaboration with furniture brand Thonet, in the form of a reinterpretation of an iconic Marcel Breuer design. Marking the German designer’s first foray into furniture, the Thonet collaboration takes 1920s designs and sees Sander apply her own stamp resulting in two lines: Serious and Nordic – both of which were launched during this year’s Milan Design Week. For Serious, Sander focused in on the S 64 chair.

Paris-based architect and designer Garance Vallée has unveiled her first-ever furniture collection, which is made up of five pieces inspired by the not-so-distant future. Designed alongside gallery Monde Singulier, the “2093” collection features a lamp, armchair, candelabra, console and bed. Each stands out against the silver-toned scenography, which is made up of a plush carpet and moire patterned curtains.
