Australian police have used an elaborate undercover sting where they pose as gangsters to catch killers more than 20 times since importing a controversial technique from Canada more than two decades ago. In the so-called "Mr Big" technique, covert police recruit the suspect to a fake gang and pay them to take part in an escalating series of simulated criminal activities which culminate in a meeting with the boss or "Mr Big" of the gang.
