A commuter town which lies along the River Thames was named the third coolest place to live in the country. Marlow nabbed bronze in polling to decide where is the most laid back spot in the UK. The Buckinghamshire village lost out only to the Cornish fishing village of Polperro and Wells-next-the-sea in Norfolk. The public-ranked vote conducted by CBD company Naturecan named Marlow number three out of 50 making it a must-visit location.

Wells in Somerset - which, if you didn't know was a city, you'd describe as a quaint little country town - was named among the best places to move to by The Sunday Times back in 2020. The judges on the poll lauded Wells for a wealth of history, a vibrant shopping scene (despite its size), and solid transport links.
