The Snowdonia Animal Sanctuary, a haven for abandoned pets in Eryri, is facing its toughest times. If you're not looking for it, you might just drive past this sanctuary. But even without any signs, people still turn up unexpectedly with animals they can no longer look after. Some kind-hearted folks bring their pets to the door and hand them over to the sanctuary team; others leave them at the gate for someone to find.

If you don’t know what you are looking for, it’s easy to drive past Snowdonia Animal Sanctuary. That’s probably a good thing, because even without any indication of the haven at the end of the long, twisting lane, people still arrive, unexpectedly, with animals they can no longer care for. The lucky ones are brought to the door and surrendered to a member of the sanctuary team; the less lucky are left at the gate for someone to find and take in.
