IT’S always an effort publishing any book. But publishing under genocidal conditions directly affecting your authors and yourselves as editors, feels miraculous. But sometimes miracles happen. Last week, On November 21, 2024, we received an email from our publisher saying, “Dear Hyab, Tawona and Alison, your book is in the depot and the open access version is now online.” Our book – Cultures Of Sustainable Peace (below) – bears a title which can easily produce a hollow laugh.

ON November 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court finally acted unanimously and decisively on The Situation in the State of Palestine. The ICC is responsible, under the Rome Statute, for cases of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The warrants issued are simultaneously for three men, Benjamin Netanyahu, Yoav Gallant and Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri (Deif).
