European Year-in-Review: CMBS Market Bounces Back In 2021 Following a turbulent 2020, the structured finance market as a whole bounced back in 2021. This was true also for the European CMBS market. To understand the market activity throughout 2021, Trepp reviewed some of the key developments from the past year, noting in particular where market activity is the most concentrated based on the securitized loan balance. We saw a total of 16 CMBS deals originated in the European market in 2021.

UK inflation came down to its lowest level in almost three years this month, decreasing to 2.0% from 2.3%. This 2.0% mark has long been the Bank of England’s target after inflation peaked at 11.1% in October 2022. However, even as inflation dips lower, prices continue to rise, and food prices are on average 25% higher now than at the start of 2022.
