It gets worse before it gets better, right? Before Monday’s series opener in Arizona, Mike Puma of the NY Post reported a few injury updates on Mets players. The team officially placed Jesse Winker on the injured list. He left Game 1 of Sunday’s doubleheader early with a Grade 2 oblique strain. He’ll likely be out for at least six to eight weeks. The Mets recalled Brett Baty from Syracuse to take his spot on the roster.

The now-minted utility player, who saw time at third and second in 2025, was hitting .204/.246/.352/.597 before his demotion.

They’ve done it with players like Sean Manaea and Luis Severino on the pitching side and have found hidden gems like Luis Torrens and Tyrone Taylor on the position player side. Jared Young hopes to join that crowd.

According to Nacha Cattan of Bloomberg, a New York State Senate committee voted Tuesday to approve a bill allowing Cohen to build on the 50-acre parking lot adjacent to Citi Field. The bill will then go to the Assembly, where it must pass and then move on to NY Governor Kathy Hochul for her signature.
