MLB

Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball league and is the oldest among the four major sports leagues in the United States and Canada. It consists of 30 teams, split evenly between the National League (NL) and the American League (AL), with 15 teams in each. The NL was established in 1876 and the AL in 1901 as independent organizations. Starting in 1903, the two leagues worked together while remaining separate until they officially merged into one entity under the leadership of the Commissioner of Baseball in 2000. MLB also governs Minor League Baseball, which includes 256 teams that are affiliated with the Major League teams. Additionally, MLB collaborates with the World Baseball Softball Confederation to organize the World Baseball Classic, an international tournament.

Before starting his rehab assignment, Kershaw told MLB.com’s Sonja Chen that his arm was in better shape than his left toe. Kershaw is eligible to be reinstated from the 60-day injured list in late May, although he’s not necessarily expected to be reinstated once he’s eligible. The Dodgers had one of the busiest offseasons in baseball, adding household-name talent to an already stacked roster that had just won the World Series. And yet it's fair to wonder where the team would be at this early juncture without two rookie relievers.
