Varanasi: A 4-year-old girl was rescued by an elderly man from being electrocuted after she came in contact with a faulty wire and fell facedown on a waterlogged road in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi on Tuesday. The child struggled to get out of the water, also electrified because of the live wire. In the midst of the chaos, an e-rickshaw stopped at the scene, the passengers disembarked and rushed to the child's aid.

New Delhi: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra today released the latest construction pictures of the Ram Temple in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. The trust stated that the construction of the temple is on track to be completed on time. The ground floor work is scheduled to be finished in November while 50% of the first floor pillars have been completed. The trust aims to complete the first-floor work by the end of December. The Ram Temple is scheduled to be inaugurated in January 2024.

Kushinagar, UP: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped in a moving vehicle in Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar earlier this month, police said. Three men, all neighbours of the victim, were arrested on Monday. According to the police, the incident took place on September 9 when the accused called the minor girl to clean a cow shelter. The victim wrote in her police complaint that the accused threatened her with a knife and took her to a shanty before forcing himself upon her.

Lucknow: A 24-year-old man died by suicide this morning at the official residence of a BJP legislator in Lucknow, police have said. Shreshta Tiwari used to work in the media cell of Yogesh Shukla, BJP MLA from Lucknow's Bakshi Ka Talab. Shrestha Tiwari was upset over a dispute with his girlfriend, police sources have said. The young man died by suicide during a video call with his girlfriend, the sources added. The woman, the sources said, took screenshots during the video call.
