    FARGO/GRAND FORKS — No. 2-seeded Des Lacs-Burlington cruised to a 13-4 victory against Hillsboro-Central Valley in the North Dakota Class B softball state semifinals Friday at Tharaldson Park in Fargo. The Lakers advanced to the state title game for the second time in program history with the last time coming in 2018. Top-seeded Central Cass plays Beulah in the second Class B semifinal. In Class A, Minot scored a 7-3 victory against Dickinson in the semifinals at Albrecht Field in Grand Forks.

    FARGO/GRAND FORKS — Des Lacs-Burlington pitcher Sierra Yale had a strong performance to lead the Lakers to a 5-2 victory against May-Port-CG on Thursday in the first round of the North Dakota Class B softball state tournament at North Dakota State's Tharaldson Park. Velva-Drake-Anamoose vs. Hillsboro-Central Valley, Central Cass vs. Carrington and Beulah vs. Bottineau are also playing in the first round.

    BISMARCK — West Fargo's Michelle Gee had a dominant day Saturday at the North Dakota state track and field meet at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. Gee was a triple-winner in Class A girls, taking first place in the 100, 200 and 400 meters. She tied an overall state meet record in the 100 with a time of 11.97 seconds on the final day of the three-day event. Fargo Davies' Kate Laqua also had a strong showing, taking first place in the Class A girls in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.
