Emma Muchnick had a career-high five goals, including the game-winner, and the Orange did a masterful defensive job against one of the game’s biggest stars. They improved to 6-4. Muchnick came out firing, scoring back-to-back goals and pacing the Orange to a 5-1 lead. Loyola did respond, but so did Syracuse, which extended out to an 11-7 halftime lead.

It was a historic moment for Mercer, marking the program’s first-ever ranked win. But it didn’t come easily, as the game came down to the final seconds, leaning on the defense to make two consecutive stops to seal the win.

New York’s 18 goals tied its highest offensive production of the series, while California’s 11 points tied its lowest output of the series, thanks in part to a defensive effort spearheaded by Kendall Halpern, the team’s lone defender by trade.

Charlotte North scored four goals, Cassidy Weeks finished with a game-high 7 points (3G, 4A) and goalie Rachel Hall made 10 saves as Boston defeated the New York Charging, 22-17, in the WLL Championship Series title game at The St. James in Springfield, Va., on Monday. "It's so special to be the first ever," North said postgame.
