South Granville’s wrestlers topped two Northern Lakes Athletic Conference opponents in a tri-meet Jan. 8 on the Vikings home mat. Seniors Mekhi Linton, Jamari Ray and Ethan Powell were recognized prior to the start of the meet. The Vikings headed to mat to take on the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans from Durham. Southern in a 3A school in the Northern Lakes 2A/3A Conference. The Vikings defeated the Southern Spartan with a 30-24 score.

The J.F. Webb Warriors slipped by the South Granville Vikings girls basketball team with a 58-56 overtime win Jan. 3. The battle began with the jump ball and did not end until the last shot was taken in the conference contest. Aggressive play early in the game sent Lauryn Davis to the line for a pair of free throws.
