Oklahoma has executed a man two and a half years after the Biden administration thwarted his original date with death. John Hanson, 61, was executed by lethal injection on Thursday morning, June 12. He was convicted of killing 77-year-old Mary Agnes Bowles after he and another man carjacked and kidnapped her from a mall on Aug. 3, 1999. The men also killed a witness, Jerald Thurman. Hanson was pronounced dead at 10:11 a.m., a corrections spokesman told USA TODAY.

Glen Rogers, known as the Casanova Killer, died Thursday, May 15, in Florida. A Mississippi mother was among his known victims. He murdered a man and four women in their 30s with reddish hair, including Linda Price of Jackson, who was found dead in her bathtub in 1995. He was prosecuted for deaths in California and Florida. He did not go to trial in Mississippi or Louisiana because he was already facing a death penalty trial in Florida.
