47 The KTBS 3 Community Caravan is set to roll into Minden next week, bringing a spotlight to local eateries and inviting the public to meet with KTBS staff during a week of community-focused programming. The visit will include a special segment of “Tasty Tuesday” featuring El Santito Mexican Restaurant. The downtown Minden eatery, known for its blend of Latin, Mediterranean, and Mexican cuisine, will be highlighted as part of KTBS reporter Rick Rowe’s weekly food feature.

10 The Miss Webster Parish Pageant will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Minden Community House. Open to girls ages 0 to 15 years, the event provides a lighthearted and welcoming environment for young participants to dress up, take the stage, and enjoy the excitement of a pageant setting. Entry is $60 per contestant, with an optional $10 fee for the photogenic category. All proceeds from the event will benefit SOS Ministries.

16 The Webster Parish School Board awarded the inaugural Kevin J. Washington Memorial Scholarship during its regular meeting on June 2, marking a new chapter in honoring the legacy of the late Assistant Superintendent Kevin Washington. Kevin Thompson of Taylor and Sons presented the $1,000 scholarship, which was awarded to Tatiyana Mason, a graduating senior from North Webster High School. “I’m just so happy and grateful that we’re in a position to do this,” Thompson said.

39 A large crowd turned out in 1980s attire for Seeds Women’s Center’s themed fundraiser, “Totally 80s Bingo,” held Friday, May 30 at the Minden Civic Center. The event brought in more than $9,000 to support the nonprofit’s free pregnancy and family services, surpassing the center’s fundraising goal. “We raised over $9,000! Surpassed our goal! We are hoping to make Seeds Totally 80s Bingo an annual event,” said Amber Bradford, executive director of Seeds.

11 The Minden Foundation hosted one of its largest fundraisers to date this past weekend. The 2025 Minden Charity Classic golf tournament has expanded with new and returning events. The multi-day fundraiser began Friday, May 30, with a Dinner & Auction held at Pine Hills Country Club.
