    47 Michael and Chequella Walker will host their 10th annual fan drive on May 24 from 10 AM until 2 PM, continuing their efforts to help community members beat the summer heat. The event, which provides electric fans to individuals in need, will take place at 112 W. Roosevelt Drive in Minden. Organizers are accepting donations and fan drop-offs at the event location. “Chequella and I would like you to join us in helping give out fans to beat the summer,” said Michael Walker.

    30 For four young women from across the globe, a year in Minden has been filled with growth, adventure and memories to last a lifetime. Anna from Italy, Valentina from Brazil, and Lotte and Emmi from Germany have spent the past school year as exchange students in Webster Parish, living with local families and attending Lakeside High School. Two of the students, Valentina and Emmi, stayed with longtime host parents Micaela and Clint Brunson.
