MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A western Kentucky man is wanted in connection with a murder investigation from March. Claude E. Russell, 48, of Cadiz, is wanted for the murder of Lia Thompson. Russell is described as 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds. According to Kentucky State Police, he was indicted after evidence was presented to the Marshall County Grand Jury on Thursday, April 17. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact KSP Post 1 at 270-856-3721.

MURRAY, Ky. (KFVS) - Four people were arrested in connection with a burglary investigation. Channon Catlett, 19, of Murray, was arrested on a first-degree burglary charge. Marissa Asbridge, 18, of Madisonville, Ky., was arrested on a first-degree burglary charge. Kered James Miles, 18, of Carbondale, Ill., was arrested on first-degree burglary and second-degree fleeing or evading charges. Cameron Malone, 25, of Princeton, Ky., was arrested on a first-degree burglary charge.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center will celebrate the 20th anniversary and “retirement” of its 20-year-old conjoined black rat snake. The celebration will be on Saturday, May 3 at the Nature Center. They say that will be the snake’s last public meet and greet. The snake was originally found in Delta in 2005.

They say there will be speakers and presenters at the Wayne County Historical Society Museum, 108 West Elm (Elm near Main). The food and craft vendors, as well as the parade and tours, will be at the Piedmont Chamber of Commerce on the Greenway, a community park on Main Street and Ash Street.

SOUTHEAST Mo. (KFVS) - A magnitude 2.4 earthquake was recorded in southeast Missouri early Tuesday morning, April 15. According to the preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey, it happened around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The event starts at Scout Hall at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 with registration and social hour. At 6 p.m., they’ll walk down to Ivers Square to gather eggs. MISSOURI (KFVS) - Governor Mike Kehoe said he is preparing to request the second federal disaster declaration in Missouri in four weeks. According to a news release from the governor’s office, he asked the Federal Emergency Management Agency to participate in joint preliminary damage assessments in 20 counties following severe weather and flooding that began on March 30.
