President Donald Trump's advisors could learn a few economic principles from Rihanna, and the folks behind one of her well-known business ventures. RiRi sure got my attention Wednesday, Trump's so-called Liberation Day. I wasn't in the market for a new car, TV or any other big-ticket item when I started my online search. What I needed was underwear — namely, and as old school jokesters called them, "over the shoulder boulder holders."Nothing fancy, nothing expensive. Just a couple of new bras.

It hurts far worse to be uninvited to a party than to never have been invited at all. Even worse if the party you were uninvited to was for you and you'd paid the host thousands and thousands of dollars in tuition and/or charitable support. Ohio University — my alma mater — effectively disinvited thousands of Black alumni from our own party when it "placed on hold on" the Black Alumni Reunion this week in an ill-conceived and poorly executed press release.
