    May 2 2025, 4:33 pmA bear was on the loose in a residential area of Metro Vancouver late Thursday afternoon and was spotted in a yard in New West. Thankfully, no one was hurt, including the bear. The bear was initially spotted in the Sapperton area of New Westminster. Both the City of New Westminster and the New Westminster Police Department shared warnings about the bear on social media. Daily Hive obtained permission from a local resident to share several photos of the bear.
