The deceased has been named locally as Eddie Friel, who was aged in his 60s. His body was discovered in Killybegs on Sunday at about 12.20pm, when gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of man found unresponsive at a residence on Harbour View Drive. Mr Friel was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. The post mortem has since been completed, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons.

The body was discovered in Killybegs on Sunday at about 12.20pm, when gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of man found unresponsive at a residence on Harbour View Drive. The man, aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. Gardaí arrested a man, aged in his 60s, this morning who is being detained at a Garda Station in Co Donegal under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
