    U.S. President Donald Trump’s new universal tariffs on steel and aluminum will cut off a significant market for Argentine manufacturers and could lead to an influx of products arriving in Argentina from other countries such as China, producers have warned. The tariffs on imported steel and aluminum will now be 25%. “It’s 25%, without exceptions or exemptions, and it’s all countries, no matter where it comes from,” Trump said as he signed the proclamation on Monday.

The decree, published in Thursday’s Official Gazette, says that existing provisions in Argentina’s Gender Identity Law go against children’s rights. However, trans healthcare and parenting advocates point out that in practice, irreversible treatments such as surgery and hormone therapy are very rarely administered to minors.
