For over 15 years, the Graphic Communications program has been training students for roles in the print industry. Graduates work in various positions designing and producing print materials such as pamphlets, posters, and large-format images. This summer, the first group of Graphic Communications Co-operative Education (Co-op) students could be found designing, cutting, and binding in print companies throughout the lower mainland.

Congratulations to BCIT students Ayden Meinhardt and Eric Wu for representing Team BC in winning gold at the 2024 Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) that took place in Quebec City on May 30 and 31. BCIT Mechatronics and Robotics student Ayden competed in the Electronics category, while BCIT Electrical student Eric competed in the Automation and Control category.

Land acknowledgements are offered to acknowledge the Indigenous land that you are on. They have been happening for a long time across Canada but are heard more frequently since 2015. It has been happening before sports games begin or even before events and meetings in post-secondary schools. Many Nations used to do them all the time when they would travel by boat or in a canoe.

This program, introduced by Kenton Low, Dean, BCIT School of Business + Media, promises to be an unforgettable and transformative experience. While born and raised in Vancouver, Kenton has a rich history with the Walt Disney Company.
