A 12-year-old succumbed to their injuries after a crash on Monday. On Monday afternoon, crews worked to rescue the child and an adult from the vehicle following a two-car crash. The incident occurred near Veterans Memorial Parkway, between Surfside and Pine Island. The road was shut down for hours as emergency responders managed the scene. The adult in the vehicle is in critical condition and is still being treated for their injuries.

A fatal house fire in San Carlos Park has left the community in shock and mourning. The blaze occurred on Wednesday morning on Caloosa Trace Circle, completely destroying the roof and leaving the home wrapped in yellow tape. Firefighters from San Carlos Park, South Trail, and Lehigh Acres, along with Lee County Sheriff's deputies and EMS, responded to the scene for rescue efforts. Neighbors recounted the intensity of the fire, describing heavy smoke and flames engulfing the home and the sky.

Jesse Korff, a man involved in two separate investigations involving bomb squads in Fort Myers and North Fort Myers, was expected to appear in court today. However, his first appearance hearing was canceled just hours before he was set to stand before a judge. Korff was also scheduled to appear in federal court on Tuesday but was instead taken to the hospital directly from court in an ambulance.
