COLUMBUS, Ohio — As millions of of drivers hit the road for Memorial Day weekend, leaders with the Ohio Department of Transportation work to pull back as many orange barrels as they can during busy travel weekends. But there are some spots across the state, where that's easier said than done. "A lot of those locations are going to be those longer-term work zones, that's just where it's not going to be possible to reduce them" said Matt Bruning, press secretary for ODOT.

New data from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) shows 60% of highway workers were involved in some sort of work zone-related crash in the past year. Every year, the ACG conducts a survey across the country about how safe highway workers feel on the roads.

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio — Since 2024, officers in Reynoldsburg have been making an extra effort to crack down on speeding drivers at problem intersections. Many intersections where officers are seeing issues with drivers going too fast are along Main Street and Brice Road on the east side. Besides Main Street and Brice Road, Livingston Ave/Brice and Main Street near Cypress Alley are also posing issues for officers.
