Rian is one of the three children that Grandfather Pat Teglo obtained custody over. Between 10-hour hospital visits in Columbia and an upcoming five or six-week-long visit to St. Louis for radiation, Teglo remains out of work. This is why the Camdenton community is hosting a bake sale at The butcher Shop this Saturday from 11 am until every item is sold. Older sister Rowan McCormick encouraged anyone to bring their goods to sell for the cause.

JEFFERSON CITY — Saturday afternoon, the Missouri State Museum hosted an opening ceremony for a new exhibit called Missouri Makers. The exhibition celebrated 40 years of Missouri's traditional arts apprenticeship program and featured the work of master artists and apprentices. Folk art represented many traditional art forms in Missouri and beyond.

COLUMBIA — The Columbia Falcon Tours Amtgard live-action role-playing group (LARP) brought together other Mid-Missouri parks for their weekly park play on Sunday. A park is a chapter/kingdom in the game based on location. The groups met at Albert Oakland Park. When reality becomes dull, it offers players the chance to create a new reality of their own. Games are different each time ranging from militia to magic. "We did a militia game. So it was just pure combat.

Thursday, Columbia saw several celebrations to commemorate Juneteenth. The federally recognized holiday for the emancipation of enslaved people in America. The Columbia African American Business Alliance hosted a program at Urban Empowerment Ministries where live food and music were met with a black business vendor fair. With a spotlight on black entrepreneurship, community members shared key factors of Columbia's history of African American economic security.

COLUMBIA — After a retreat, community outreach meetings and planning, the Columbia City Council voted 5-1 on Monday to amend its strategic plan to go back to its original language. Originally proposed at a May 5th council meeting, the change returned the city's statement on diversity equity and inclusion to its original format from 2021.
