LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - An Opelousas car dealer has been arrested after an audit of his used car lot, Louisiana State Police said. Allen Guillory Sr., 55, is facing several charges of illegal possession of stolen things and alteration of a car’s VIN number. The theft was discovered in an investigation by the Louisiana State Insurance Fraud and Auto Theft unit and Louisiana Used Motor Vehicle Commission.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The 2-year-old child who was fighting a rare brain tumor passed away on April 6, 2025, surrounded by family. Iris-Blake Ka’aina Lau, who was lovingly called “Sissy,” was born in Lake Charles to parents Kwyntan and Morgan Lau on August 12, 2022. Her parents say the form of cancer she had was so rare that only about 250 cases have been diagnosed since 2012. It’s known as which stands for embryonal tumor with multilayer rosette. Lake Charles man sentenced to over 16 years for selling fentanyl

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A Lake Charles man was sentenced to over 16 years in federal prison on Friday for selling and distributing fentanyl. When members of the Calcasieu Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) executed a search warrant at the home of Kendall Hicks, 35, in May 2023, they found over $10,000 and nearly 500 grams of fentanyl, marijuana and digital scales. Hicks pleaded guilty on Jan. 7, 2025.
