WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) – An 83-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that happened in Connecticut in November. West Hartford police said they arrested 83-year-old Sue Deffenbaugh on charges of evading responsibility and failure to exercise reasonable care near a vulnerable user on a public way. The crash happened on Nov. 8, 2024. On that day, police said they responded to an intersection for a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.

CANTON, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) – A gender reveal in Ohio ended with a man in handcuffs. On Sunday evening in Canton, Andrew Soliday revved up his bright green muscle car and did a burnout, revealing blue smoke behind him to signify the couple was having a baby boy. As his car took off down the street, Canton police spotted him. Several officers stopped Soliday and approached the car with guns drawn. “It’s a gender reveal,” Soliday can be heard telling the officers.

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) – Residents of a neighborhood in Roanoke, Virginia, are frustrated with a house that is overflowing with trash, which they say is an eyesore and a health hazard. Neighbors said they’ve been asking the city to take action for two years. The home is located in the 500 block of McDowell Avenue. “We’ve called the city’s code enforcement office, we’ve seen people come out, but nothing has ever been done,” said Tei Mann, who lives next door to the property.

Elizabeth “Claiborne” Miller-Davis, a cancer patient at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, asked for one last visit with her horses Princess and Stormy. On Thursday, that wish was granted in a powerful moment of compassion and care. Princess and Stormy were brought right to the hospital lawn, just outside Miller-Davis’ room.
